You can't make a Great Dane read as a Great Dane through size alone — at 16 inches, it has to work through structure. Long rectangular head, deep narrow chest, long legs, and a lean frame that reads as height even at plush scale.

• A long rectangular skull with a pronounced stop and flat cheeks — the shape that separates a Dane from a Mastiff
• A deep, narrow chest reaching to the elbow, over a pronounced tuck-up
• Long, straight legs proportioned tall rather than sturdy
• A short, smooth coat in fine short-pile fabric so the frame and bone structure stay readable
• Natural drop ears and a long tapering tail, as most Danes are kept today
