The Brown Tabby, Stripes That Follow the Body

Tabby striping isn't a print. It wraps the ribs, breaks into spots along the flanks, rings the legs and tail, and forms the recognizable M marking on the forehead. Applied as a flat pattern it looks painted on; airbrushed by hand it follows the contours.

• The M marking on the forehead — a defining part of this tabby design
• Mackerel striping hand-airbrushed to wrap the ribs and break naturally along the sides
• Ringed tail and legs, with the banding tightening toward the tip
• Green eyes, hand-set with vertical pupils and an almond-shaped feline profile
• A soft warm brown coat with a paler belly and chin, in medium-pile fabric that catches light the way real fur does
